The Problem
Carbon dioxide is emitted in nearly everything you do, from driving to eating and even breathing.
While CO2 is invisible, its effects are unmistakable. Natural disasters, vanishing glaciers, and desertification are increasingly becoming the new normal as temperatures rise.
Carbon is the leading cause of climate change, accounting for 76% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The threat carbon poses is immediate.
The Solution
Light CO2 is changing the story of carbon, and with it, climate change. Humans can add carbon to the atmosphere, but we can also remove it. We’re pioneering carbon offsets, a method of removing carbon elsewhere to neutralize your impact on the environment.

Light CO2 empowers everybody and anyone to change climate change. We’ve built a survey from the ground up that asses your unique impact on the environment and empowers you to defy carbon with an offset that fits your needs. By planting trees, we capture the CO2 emitted by your daily activities.
1. Reduce
The first step in becoming carbon neutral is to reduce your carbon emissions as much as you can. Small steps from eating less meat to driving less compound together to make a massive impact. Light CO2’s collection of youth-written articles give the most effective tips and environmental insights.
The Light CO2 Approach

Our team of teens brainstorms the wildest of ideas, such as planting whole forests or phytoplankton gardens to neutralize climate change causing carbon. We’re making unprecedented innovations in carbon offsetting.
🏗 Build it.
With this vision, we build it into a reality by hunting for organizations that make the greatest differences in our world and partner forces. We research and examine their programs to ensure a maximized removal of carbon.

We rigorously test, check, and meet with organizations rendering our projects to make sure they do as they say. Each project page features information on its carbon verification and due diligence documents.
🌱 Grow it.
Your carbon offset goes undeviatingly to your chosen project, helping mother Earth and the communities involved. The crew of Light CO2 upholds and grows these climate change fighting initiatives to magnanimity.

While climate change affects everyone, it most substantially impacts the future of our generation. At Light CO2, we're cultivating a platform for youth that gives a voice to youth and encourages meaningful climate action. We’re all volunteers, together making this Earth a little bit brighter. It’s time to stand up for Earth.

Light CO2 was born to make it easier to fight for what is right. Over my life, I’ve found it harder and harder to do just that. Too often, individuals are overpowered by these issues rather than empowered to making meaningful change.
